wreath.jpg Farewell Bill Ravenscroft
Geoff Plevin contacted us with this sad news.

I heard this morning from a relative that lived near Bill that Bill had died last week and his funeral took place yesterday (19/3/15).

People may remember Bill from working in RSC's in Bury and I think Cheetham Hill. He later worked as a manager at Altrincham RSC and the at the Customer Contact Centre in Church ST. RIP Bill.

flowers2.jpg Farewell Alan Gawne
Received the following information from John Makinson:

Sadly I have to inform you of the passing away of Alan Gawne peacefully on Wednesday last week in Macclesfield Hospital. I am sure that not all of you would have known or remember Alan.

He originally worked around Wilmslow and ended up as the TOA in Congleton exchange around the time of the installation of the then new TXE4A unit. Unfortunately he went on holiday to Greece one year and returned with Hepatitis B and after a brave fight he had to leave BT on ill health grounds in the mid 1990s. Eventually after many years he had a Liver transplant but along the way had many other problems with his hearing, his eyesight etc. but through it all he remains upbeat.
Alan was 66 years old and leaves a wife Carol, two sons and two grandchildren.

Alan's funeral arrangements: 2:00pm on Tuesday 3rd March at Macclesfied Crematorium.

aerial.jpg Neil Chorley trying to get in touch with Dave Davies
Neil contacted us on the contact page. He wrote:

Hello
A friend of mine, Jim Perkins, posted some messages trying to find people who I worked with on coin box telephones at Crossley St, Gorton, many years ago (it was then Post Office Telecomms, before BT had begun).

Subsequently, somebody called D Appleby posted a message saying that Dave Davies, who used to work on coin boxes, now lives in Abergele North Wales.

Can you please tell me how I can contact D Appleby, to see if he has any contact details for Dave Davies? I'd love to be able to get in touch with him.

Many thanks
Neil Chorley

Unfortunately we have no contact details for D Appleby or Dave Davis. D Appleby (sorry don't have a first name) has posted information on our site previously, but without contact details.

Can anybody fill in the gaps?
