Ken Monaghan posted a notice with the sad news of Brian's death.
With a sad heart I have to inform you of the passing of Brian McKeown. Brian has worked in far too many areas of BT to list but just from my memory he was AEE at Ardwick & East Exchanges, I'm not sure where he went from then. I met him in the MAC centre, Dial Hse where he was my boss, and a great boss at that.
Below are the details of his funeral & wake in an email from his son.
All,
My father Brian McKeown passed away on the 14th January, please could you let those from his BT days know and extend the open invite to the funeral and wake. The family would love to hear some stories about my father and his days in BT.

The family would like to invite you to Brian’s funeral service at Rochdale Crematorium, Bury Road, Rochdale OL11 4DG at 11:10. The funeral party will be departing from Holdens Funeral Directors at 10:30am.
All are welcome to attend the Wake at Bellavista Ristorante, Wildhouse Lane from 12:30. We are more than happy for you to attend any part of the day that you feel most comfortable with. Please let us know if you are coming so we can say hello and make sure you are catered for.
If you are aware of friends or other people who would like to attend, please pass this information along as we would love to have you all, to say goodbye and tell us stories of his life.
Brian was always thinking of others, we would like to request that instead of flowers, a donation is made to tbc
