| | Brian Carrick contacted us with this sad news.
Ian passed away peacefully on 26th March after a long fight with cancer.
Ian worked in Manchester on Outside Broadcasts from the age of 21 to his retirement.

First came into contact with Ian and his colleagues when I joined the contracts group on 9th floor in the then Regional Office at 60 Whitworth St in 1971. Ian and colleagues were always ready to sort out any problem we had with anything mechanical or that needed repairing. Years passed before I came into contact with the group again out in the old warehouses behind Trafford ATE in the early 90's. I remember having the floor dug up in order to repair a drain. Hole must have been easily 12ft deep. Piles of spoil etc. Such are memories! RIP Ian. |
