I am very sorry to hear of Doug's death. I never worked with Doug but our paths crossed occasionally. We met I think through the IPOE and he joined in many of the visits and took part in the quiz team. In both cases probably well before me. He was always a knowledgeable and friendly gent and we 'chewed the cud' etc over a drink a few times. I think his daughter Gwyneth worked for BT, we never met and I may be wrong!
Please pass on my condolences to Doug's family, if you have the opportunity.
I unfortunately won't be able to come to the funeral as I am 'unserviceable' myself at present.
Best Wishes to all

Thank you for your kind words about our dad. You are quite right I did (Gwyneth)work for BT, my husband still does, and so did our late mother, Shirley Edwards. Dad loved his BT days and would often reminisce about the job and the many people he had met along the way. How I would love to hear those stories now. Take Care of yourself Allen and thanks again for commenting.

If you knew our dad, Claire (my sister) and I would love to see you on the 15th February so dad gets the send off he deserves.
Thank you

Gwyneth.
