| | Farewell Ken Winter |
| Jag Patel passed on the sad news of Ken's death from Ken's son Michael.
Ken passed away suddenly on Sunday 3rd July.
Ken worked in Dial House Manchester for all his time at BT.
He joined as an adult entrant in 1978 starting on Circuit Provision, moving to Digital Circuit Provision as equipment evolved.
Then later on to Transmission Maintenance in Manchester 'R' where he was promoted to TO. He worked there until he retired.
Ken was a keen water sport enthusiast yachting at Dovestones and sail boarding anywhere there was water!
He always took his board everywhere he went away in his motor home, a Mazda Bongo if I remember correctly.
Lately Ken was a keen walker who enjoyed the outdoor life with friends.
He was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, with a smile and a cheerful hello for everyone, he will be sadly missed.
We now have a confirmed date and time for Ken's funeral:
Tuesday 2nd August at 11:00am
Dukinfield Crematorium
Hall Green Road
Dukinfield
SK16 4EP
Then afterwards:
Saddleworth Cricket Club
Well-i-hole Road
Greenfield
Oldham
OL3 7HY
Ken's son Michael says:
Please join us if you can to celebrate Ken's life with stories food and beer. There is no dress code, family flowers only. | |
