notice.jpg Farewell John Ollerenshaw
It is with sadness that I have to report the death of John Ollerenshaw at 85 years young, he mainly worked in Manchester North Area on Exchange Maintenance until he was promoted to Level 1, and then again had responsibilities for Exchanges in the North of Manchester. He suffered from health problems for a number of years in his later years, and had walking difficulties having to rely on crutches which made life difficult and uncomfortable for him, he also had a heart problem which could not be medically rectified which eventually caused his death in Hospital on 7th December 2022.

Oh dear, so sorry to hear about John and his troubles in later life. He was my training officer in Telephone House on Portland St after I joined Mcr Central as a TTA in 1971. I remember him as a compassionate understanding person who always wanted the best for us trainees. He allowed me to join Transmission duties in a place I hadn't heard of, Guardian, in 1973, so shaped the rest of my service. A top man and I hope he now has peace at rest. Respect so R. I. P sir.!!
