| | James Glynn Fletcher contacted us with the sad news of Ian's death.
Just to let everyone know that Ian Wright has died.
Ian worked from Stockport on PABXs and he retired about 20 years ago.

Ian was 84 years young and retired from BT approx 30 years ago.
Originally worked under Stockport RSC and moved to Macclesfield RSC in the early 1980s.
He was a TO on PABX maintenance and covered mainly, Alderley, Prestbury and Wilmslow areas.
I worked with Ian, on PABX’s, until I went into the RSC in 1986 and was then his Controlling Officer.
He was a real ‘ladies man’, was very knowledgeable and referred to himself as a ‘Telecommunications Specialist’, never just an engineer.

Very sad news and quite ironic that the last time Keith and I worked together was in 1972 on the new crossbar exchange at Stepping Hill. RIP Keith. |
